A dilatory Decline in Prejudice between Places and People in northmost and SouthThrough her characterizations of the two main characters in MargaretHale and conjuration Thornton, Elizabeth Gaskell civilizes a transition from disfavour to love. She reveals their inner most thoughts through anomniscient third person narrative to allow the audience to empathisewith their feelings. The Characters develop through dialogue becausethey dispute over the North and South dissever and try to distancethemselves from each other. But despite their prejudices love prevailsbecause of the actions of levelheaded will shown by Margaret, which Johninterprets to be feelings of love. The audience is satisfied that they give found a general cause which is sufficient to counteract the formsof prejudice depicted in the novel, and that cause is love.The fundamental theme of prejudice in the story is location.
